Hasler PS1000
Production Console Inserting Systems: Hasler PS1000
Hasler's PS1000 offers total flexibility in mail processing from a few hundred letters per day to consistent, around-the-clock production. Almost any system configuration is available, from a simple 2 station machine to a highly sophisticated 16 station installation. The PS1000 is considerably quieter than other production mailing machines, fitting perfectly into an office environment or a full-scale, production mailing area. Its low noise level guarantees that wherever it is situated, it can operate at full capacity with minimal disturbance to the everyday working environment.
Flexibility
The PS1000 has been designed to meet the needs of a wide variety of businesses and applications. Because each station has individual paper control and intelligence, the system can be configured to precisely meet your needs, from a two station folder up to a complex 16 station Roll-feed system. The true modularity of the design means that it is not confined to a one or two channel configuration. Any of the input and feed units shown can be fitted at any station, meaning one system can process many different applications. Uniquely the processing speed of the system is completely unaffected by the number of stations fitted, or in use for each job. This all means that the system can evolve with the needs of your business. Extra stations can be added, or feed units changed onsite, eliminating the need to foresee the future when deciding on a system that meets your requirements.
Input Options
Whatever format your documents are produced in, the PS1000 has a module to process them. Unwind units will feed rolls up to 52" in diameter. The unique paper-drive system means low power consumption and easy loading. All formats of fan-fold documents can also be processed. These are double-cut in a single action, giving a perfectly finished document from 4" to 14" at speeds of up to 21,000 per hour. Whichever form of continuous stationery is used, 2-up formats are further processed by the merger unit, which sequences alternate documents to be accumulated and folded as appropriate. Sheet-fed systems are fitted with a unique 5,000 sheet trolley-loading system. These increase productivity by allowing the operator to load the second trolley while the system is operating, and simply roll it into place when the first one is empty. A 2,000 sheet option is available for frequent shorter runs. All these options can be fitted at any position on the system giving complete flexibility of document processing from different printer sources.
Output Options
To meet the needs of a variety of applications and postal requirements, the PS1000 has several options after insertion. The conveyor has a capacity of up to 600 envelopes and is suitable for general applications, while the vertical stacker stands the sealed envelope on edge, giving a stacking capacity of up to 1500. It is ergonomically designed to make it easy to divide the stack and load into postage trays. This is enhanced by the edge-marking and jog-out facilities. The mail bag option will automatically feed envelopes down into a twin-bag system, allowing one to be sealed and labelled while the next is being filled. Any combination of these can be fitted to the output of the PS1000, with the destination of each document being controlled by the coded input document, envelope weight, or a batch count.
Easy Operation
In a busy mailroom, time spent setting up a system for a new job is very expensive. On shorter runs or reprints this can often take longer than the job itself. The PS1000 overcomes this by automatically adjusting all settings with the press of a few buttons on the touch-screen display. Once a job has ended, the new application is selected from a dropdown menu. With guidance from the screen, the new stationery is then loaded into the appropriate feed modules. The start button can be used on the remote control, without the need to return to the display screen. Once started, the IMOS software sends the detailed program information to each module which will adjust itself to the correct document size, thickness and fold required and start processing the new job with no further operator input. All this can be done within a few minutes, giving far greater productive time than traditional systems.
Data Logging
An integral concept of the Automailer 5 Plus is its mark reading and data logging features. All formats of mark can be read, with OMR & Barcode as standard and 2D Matrix or OCR as options. Importantly, whichever format is read, the electronic data is then passed from module to module along with the document ensuring complete integrity of its progress. This means that the precise details of any document’s outcome are recorded, even if it is diverted by the system or removed by the operator for any reason. This data can then be further processed by Hasler's PiCS software, or integrated with your print software to produce detailed reports or re-print data. The flexible reading systems, combined with IMOS operating software, mean that virtually any existing code can be read and each job can have its own format and specification.
